Paneer Puff

Paneer filled in the puff pastry. I have already posted the veggie puff. This is a simple snack. Paneer stuffing puffs made spicy suits well with evening snacks with the coffee. 



Prep Time : 15 mins
Bake Time : 20 mins
Serves : 2 or 3

Ingredients
  • Puff Pastry Sheets - 1 box (pepperidge farm)
  • Paneer cubes - 1 cup
  • Oil
  • Onion - 1/4 cup
  • Tomato  - 2 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Aamchur powder / Mango powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp
Method
  1. Finely chop the paneer and in a pan shallow fry with the little oil and keep aside
  2. In the same pan add oil 2 tsp, then add chopped onions stir fry then add tomatoes
  3. And garam masala, chilli powder, aamchurpowder, salt stir well
  4. Then add paneer and lemon juice mix well.
  5. Thaw the pastry sheets as per the box. 
  6. Sprinkle the maida flour, All purpose flour in the table top 
  7. Cut the pastry sheets into rectangle shape and fill in the 2 tsp mixture on one side of the sheet and cover the other side with the help of water
  8. Preheat the oven 450F and place the puff in the baking tray for about 20 mins till golden and crispy
  9. Serve hot.

Green Beans Yengai

Everybody knows well yengai is made mainly with Eggplant / Brinjal which is best side dish for chapathi or rasam rice. My mom made this crunchy beans with yengai masal.

Cooking Time : 8-10 Mins 
Serves : 2


Ingredients
  • Green beans - 2 cups, chopped
  • Yengai Powder - 1 & 1/2 tsp
  • Tamarind Paste / Juice - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 5 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Asafoetida / Hing - a pinch
Method
  1. Chop the beans finely and cook in the pressure cooker or microwave. In the pressure cooker do not add water to beans for Microwave sprinkle water and cover and cook
  2. Heat oil in a big pan add mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves
  3. Add cooked beans fry and add yengai powder, tamarind and salt
  4. Mix well and serve hot
