Manga Ogare / Mango Rice / Mavina Kai Chitra anna
Ingredients
- Raw Mango / Shredded raw mango - 1 cup (sour)
- Salt to taste
- Green chilies - 4
- Curry leaves - 1 stalk
- Peanuts - 4 tbsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Chana dal - 1 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Turmeric a pinch
- Hing / Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
- Oil - 1/4 cup
- Grated Coconut - 1/4 cup
- Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tsp
- Rice (I've used Sona Masoori or any small rice)
Method :
- Make a rice in the rice cooker or pressure cooker. Do not overcook the rice
- Heat oil in a large wok
- Add mustard seeds allow to splutter, add chana dal, urad dal, hing, curry leaves & chilies, turmeric, one after the other fry till golden
- Add peanuts stir fry till golden color & crunchy. Switch off the flame
- Add shredded mango & shredded fresh coconut
- Add Rice & Salt
- Mix well and garnish coriander leaves
