Manga Ogare





Manga Ogare / Mango Rice / Mavina Kai Chitra anna


Ingredients

  • Raw Mango / Shredded raw mango - 1 cup (sour)
  • Salt to taste
  • Green chilies - 4
  • Curry leaves - 1 stalk
  • Peanuts - 4 tbsp 
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Chana dal - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric a pinch
  • Hing / Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 1/4 cup
  • Grated Coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tsp
  • Rice (I've used Sona Masoori or any small rice)


Method :


  1. Make a rice in the rice cooker or pressure cooker. Do not overcook the rice
  2. Heat oil in a large wok
  3. Add mustard seeds allow to splutter, add chana dal, urad dal, hing, curry leaves & chilies, turmeric, one after the other fry till golden
  4. Add peanuts stir fry till golden color & crunchy. Switch off the flame
  5. Add shredded mango & shredded fresh coconut
  6. Add Rice  & Salt 
  7. Mix well and garnish coriander leaves 
Serve hot
