This is a ayurvedic drink. This Kashaya / Kashayam is various types of Ayurvedic home remedy medicine freshly homemade. I usually makes this for winter season. This Kashaya made out of fresh holy basil/tulasi and other herbs and spices. It helps and relieves common cold, cough, headache, indigestion and minor inflammation.
Other ayurveda homemade recipes :
Cheera LeyamIngredients
- Tulasi leaves / Holi basil - 1 cup
- Black pepper corns - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Clove spice - 5 no
- Ginger - 2 tbsp chopped
- Lime juice - 1 tbsp
- Water - 2 cups
Preparation
- Rinse leaves in the tap water
- boil 2 cup of water in a pan
- Add leaves and other ingredients except lime juice.
- Boil on low flame for about 8-10 mins. It blends all the flavors and make a concoction.
- Turn off the heat.
- Once it is cool down filter it and transfer into a big jar. Do not discard residue. Can also be taken just like that with hot water.
- Whenever needed warm and drink.
