My latest favorite food - Bean burger. I am hooked on to this so much nowadays that at any burger joint I am only looking for bean burger.
Its healthy, tasty and also a burger ;).
I tried and adapted this from one of my favorite cook books.
Prep Time : 25 Mins
Makes : 8
Ingredients
- Black Beans - 1 cup
- Capsicum / Green bell pepper - 1/4, chopped
- Onions - 1/4, chopped
- Corn flour - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Bread crumbs
- Olive oil - 2 tbsp
- Method
- Soak the black water for about 4 hrs. Drain and cook the beans with enough water using pressure cooker. Remove and drained the water and mash the beans inthe masher
- Finely chopped peppers, onions
- Take a pan / skillet add oli then add onions and peppers stir fry
- Add into beans then add corn flour , salt mix well and shape bean mixture into patties
- Roll into bread crumbs
- Heat large skillet sprinkle oil all over the skillet. Add patties and cook until lightly brown
- Arrange lettuce on buns, top with burgers then onion slices, tomato slices
- Serve along with fries

Burger looks filling,nutritious and completely inviting..Wholesome food definitely.
I always think i must make patties but in the end, I do something else with the ingredients. Its nice that you have a simple recipe to try.

Who said vegetarian sandwich has to be only with cheese and veggies. This is quite a meal!
That looks lovely and very clean and healthy. Where the aioli? I cant have bean burgers without a salty.tangy sauce!
