Pongal / Khara Pongal

- Rice - 1 cup
- Moong dal - 1/2 cup
- Black Pepper - 1 tsp
- Jeera - 1 tsp
- Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
- Ghee - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Cashews - 2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Water - 3 cups
Method
- Fry moong dal till brownish and wash it
- Wash rice and mix dal and rice
- Add Turmeric powder, Water, Coconut, Ghee, Salt, Salt
- Roast Black pepper and make ruff powder and add it in to the rice and dal. Mix well
- Place it in to the pressure cooker
- Fry Jeera seperately and add it in to the pongal mix well
- Fry cashews into the ghee till brownish
- Add cashews to the pongal
Serve with Ghee & Sugar
