Parappu Dose is made of rich proteins and is very delicious to taste with ghee. This is is very good for health because it includes all kinds of lentils .
Serves 4 people
Ingredients
- Akki / Rice - 1 cup
- Udhinabele / Urad dal - 1/2 cup
- Thogribele / Toor dal - 1/4 cup
- Hesarubele / Moong dal - 1/4 cup
- Kadlebele / Chana dal - 1/4 cup
- Green chillies - 1 (optional)
- Red chillies - 2 ( i have used Byadagi)
- Coconut - 1/4 cup
- Coriander leaves - 2 strings
- Salt - 1 tbsp
- Water - 2 cups (adjust the consistency)
- Rinse all the lentils and rice & for 5 hours
- Make a smooth batter in a mixer or stone grinder. Along with coconut, green chillies, salt, red chillies & Coriander leaves.
- Ferment for 8 hrs.
- Heat a tawa/ flat griddle
- Pour small portion of batter on tawa and spread it and put oil on it
- Allow to cook until crispy.

You have not mentioned the type of rice weather par boiled rice or raw(pacharasi) to use in the parappu dosI. Would appreciate your reply.

I have used Raw rice(sonamasuri)
For parupu dosa I use 1 measure raw rice & 1 measure togaribeli (toor dhal) soak it for 4 hrs. Then along with it add red chillies, hing, karibevu, coconut & fresh coriander leaves to make a coarse batter. Add salt & can make dosa instantly & it tastes yum & crisp. U can just eat it vth a spoon of ghee.if it ferments gives a different taste. For the 2nd time I add onions or spring onions & make it. That also tastes gud.
