Peas & Capsicum Rice / Buttani-Dhonmalaka Ogare




 Ingredients
  • Rice - 1 cup
  • Peas - 1/4 cup
  • Capsicum - 1/4 cup
  • Turmeric a pinch
  • Asafoetida powder(Hing) - 1/2 tsp
  • Coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Green chillies - 3 or 4
  • Coriander leaves - 4 tsp
  • Chana dal - 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 2 stalk
  • Oil - 1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste
Method
  1. Wash rice, add 2cup of water and place it in to the rice cooker
  2. Grind coconut, coriander leaves, chillies using a bit of water make a thick paste
  3. Heat oil in a wok
  4. Add mustard seeds allow to splutter, chana dal, curry leaves
  5. Add capsicum fry for few minutes till capsicum tender
  6. Add masala, peas stirfry switchoff the hob
  7. Add rice and salt mix well

Hi Mala,
Visited your blog for the first time and just now i tried out your capsicum and peas rice recipe. tastes great. thanks a lot. a small variation would be adding mint leaves to the masala. another humble suggestion: if you could add suitable accompaniments (e.g. pachadi, etc.), it would help. thanks a lot for the yum recipe. :)
